We took a day trip to a ruined temple complex a couple of hours from Bangkok at Ayataya.

The complex was destroyed by the armies of Burma. The very handsome King only returned home when his many hundreds of wives started playing up.

Looters later came and as whole Buddhas were too heavy to carry away, they just took the heads.
